RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated & experienced RN for Pediatric SDS at Monmouth Medical Center.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • RN Degree

  • NJ RN License

  • At least 3 years M/S or Peri-Op experience

  • BLS, ACLS & PALS (American Heart Association)

Preferred:

  • BSN

  • PACU, Pedi ED or Pediatric experience

  • Specialty Certification

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Per Diem Day

Essential Functions:

  • Caring for our Pediatric patients in our Same Day Surgery Department

  • Focus on the care of pediatric patients who are coming for procedural sedation,

  • RN to be cross trained to care for both outpatient and inpatient surgical patients, as well as, pediatric patients leaving the department or nursing unit for testing or procedures,

  • As a sedation RN the nurse is responsible for the preoperative and postoperative care of the pediatric procedural patients,

  • RN and an anesthesiologist work together to care for patient during the test or procedure,

  • Special skills required include pediatric IV insertion, Foley insertion and phlebotomy
