Kimley-Horn Electrical Engineer Practice Builder in Long Beach, California

Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Electrical Engineer Practice Builder to expand our Electrical practice in Long Beach, California (CA)!

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and analysis of complex electrical systems specializing in ZEV/electrification, ports and harbors and medium voltage commercial projects

  • Responsible for the review and development of design documents and reports, including electrical layouts, equipment schematics and block diagrams, electrical system calculations, and one-line diagrams

  • Daily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams, with interaction across Kimley-Horn offices

  • Prepare project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and proposals, supporting the growth of electrical engineering service areas in the lcoal market and across the country

  • Leadership responsibilities include:

  • Operating with integrity and sound business principals

  • Providing vision, business planning and strategy

  • Establishing goals

  • Building and maintaining positive client relationships

  • Having open communication with your partners and team

  • Growing and leading an Electrical practice

  • Our Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor

  • The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business

  • With success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of an impressive bonus program with the potential to advance to ownership

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of relevant experience managing Electrical Engineering projects

  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E. and/or EE) license strongly preferred

  • Firm understanding of the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, IEEE and ANSI Standards

  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to manage and mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably

Base Saraly Range:

  • $165,000 - $195,000

  • Eligible for performance-based bonus compensation
