The Opportunity

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will support bringing in new talent to an innovative and mission-driven organization focused on improving the quality of life and economic well-being of people worldwide. As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will perform full life cycle recruitment for Abt Britain’s corporate hiring, senior-level programme hiring, and proposal recruitment across the portfolio. You will source high-quality local and global talent, partner with leadership from the business growth and programme delivery teams to promote a personalised, inclusive, positive experience for all candidates and stakeholders, contributing to a strong employee value proposition and brand perception. In this position you will also ensure the consistent application of recruitment policies and procedures across the globe. You will help attract new team members who will continue to grow our impact across the world. This position reports to the Senior Director of Global Talent Acquisition and is part of a global team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and source high-quality local and global talent for proposals, Programmes and corporate services.

  • Develop creative ideas and innovative recruiting techniques to source qualified professionals for difficult to fill roles.

  • Coordinate external job postings and advertising across a variety of platforms; manage complex scheduling and coordinating interview logistics across multiple time-zones.

  • Manage candidate communication throughout the recruitment lifecycle and ensure timely communication with candidates, hiring managers, and vendors on the recruiting process and pending needs.

  • Manage external recruiting sources, vendor agreements, candidate submission and invoice processing.

  • Work with Hiring managers to develop and extend equitable offers of employment to selected candidates within the guidelines of Abt’s employment policies and procedures; Uses internal equity tools to help craft offers of employment

  • Ensure stringent due diligence and vetting procedures to meet compliance of recruitment protocols aligned with requirements of government clients and Abt's recruitment framework.

  • Support Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion initiatives and promote inclusive hiring through outsourcing and recruitment processes.

  • Support and contribute to HR technology transformation including leading ATS improvements that benefits the global development group.

  • Builds the skills and commitment of hiring managers to follow best practices in all stages of the talent acquisition life cycle.

  • Disseminate recruitment reports via Oracle HCM to provide strategic insights through metrics and dashboards.

  • Review recruitment guidelines and procedures to ensure the consistent application of recruitment policies and procedures across the region.

  • Continually assess the effectiveness of the recruitment process, researching best practices, conducting new-hire, and hiring manager feedback surveys, and utilising data to refine and improve the processes over time.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in recruitment systems and processes.

  • Partner with HR Operations to ensure a seamless candidate experience from applications to first day.

What We Value

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in talent acquisition

  • Possess excellent diplomatic interpersonal skills and ability to work and interact successfully with all levels within the company

  • Extensive experience in sourcing high-quality talent globally in government contractor environment or similar; experience recruiting in the international development sector or in Low and Middle Income Countries is a significant advantage.

  • Experience creating initiatives that support diversity in recruitment

  • Sourcing savvy - the knowledge and experience of where the best candidates work and the ability to spot recruiting barriers and guide managers toward solutions.

  • Organizational skills - able to lead searches through methodical steps and adhere to timelines; ability to multitask and manage multiple searches for positions that are at different stages.

  • Critical thinking skills - with ability to update and refine recruitment guidelines, policies and procedures.

  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment with fluid deadlines.

  • Knowledge of Oracle HCM/ATS and LinkedIn is preferred.

  • Proficiency in French, Kiswahili, or Portuguese if preferred.

  • Working rights in the United Kingdom is required.
