As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and debugging specific geometric modeling features with new algorithms, quite often outside the realm of Parasolid API with a focus on geometry preparation tools for CAE applications. The initial project is to design and develop a B-Rep based geometry wrapper around a complex multi-body CAD assembly for external aero dynamics, thermal comfort inside cabins and various conjugate heat transfer analysis applications. Your concentrations will be on surpassing customer expectations and delivering high-quality software in a fast-paced development environment.

Your ability to understand complex geometry operations with extensive knowledge in Parasolid will be vital. You will lead projects spanning multiple areas of Geometry module for Simcenter products, set technical direction for new features, and promote innovation through the ability to introduce new algorithms, technology and by conducting research.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, modify, and implement software programming for products using languages such as C/C++, Java and JSON scripts.

  • Drive product direction by defining, managing, and coding software while focusing on enhancing user experience.

  • Lead and coordinate software analytics programs, utilizing quantitative metrics to understand user behavior and identify critical areas for product development.

  • Improve performance using various profiling tools.

  • Work on all areas of geometry development including help on vertical application.

  • Mentor junior engineers and act as a technical lead in guiding them.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of agile software development, SDLC and other life cycle methodologies.

  • Advanced knowledge of SPMD for parallel processing, client-server architecture supporting both desktop and web client apps, application integration, and system development skills.

  • Ability to write cohesive, well-structured, object-oriented, advanced C++ and java code embracing latest coding standards.

  • Advanced production support skills with experience providing direct technical support and consulting to vertical application development teams.

  • Experience with commercial CAD and CAE software tools.

  • Ability to work on multiple complex projects simultaneously and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace

  • Engineering or equivalent is preferred. A bachelor’s degree with exceptional knowledge in geometry algorithms and equivalent experience will also be considered.

  • Demonstratable experience involving the development of enterprise applications with modern C++, OOA, Templates, Multi-threading and Design Patterns.

  • Proven track record of defining and managing software analytics projects and enhancing user experience.

  • Experience providing expert help and work in highly collaborative environment.
