Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the Global Banking and Markets Engineering (GBME) globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

  • Providing guidance, direction, and support to other team members to drive change.

  • Work directly with second level BA and development teams to provide further support where necessary.

  • Engage with 3rd party vendors to escalate urgent support issues, and ensure timely support is provided.

  • Track support issues end to end to ensure a post mortem is documented and proper action items are noted and closed out in the identified timelines.

  • Providing incident management and escalation.

  • Participation in audits across the multiple applications supported for FX, eFX and FXO.

  • Identifying areas of improvement and providing action plans to achieve these efficiencies.

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

  • Responsible for monitoring, triaging, and remediation of production issues and requests in a timely manner, based on priority, and adhering to defined SLA’s (Service Level Agreements).

  • Expected to work with internal and external technology partners as well to conduct investigations, resolve issues, and perform/validate scheduled maintenance activities.

  • Co-ordinate with team members from other regions (Toronto/India/London) to facilitate issue/task handovers as well as knowledge transfer sessions.

  • Maintain problem/task ticket with up-to-date status and documentation of investigation and remediation details.

  • Front-end support analyst supporting our Capital Markets – Global FX Cash, eFX, and FX Options business application and its stakeholders end-to-end.

  • If resource capacity permits, will be required to assist in smaller enhancement work to assist with the BA team, in addition to primary support activities.

  • Flexibility required for rotational shift support schedule including on-call and weekends during production releases and maintenance activities (Overtime will be paid).

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct.

  • Contributes to a high performance environment and fosters an inclusive work environment; supporting the vison/values/business strategy for the team.

Dimensions

  • Collaborate within a team of 8-10 spanning across 3 regions as well as multiple application teams within GBME.

  • Supporting business and technology users globally across North/South America, LATAM, Caribbean, Europe, and APAC.

  • Multiple systems used for our FX Cash, eFX, and FX Options business line: Murex, WSSFX, ScotiaRED, FXBridge etc

Education / Experience

  • 4+ years experience in a Finance/Capital Markets technology support role.

  • Self-driven, with proven communication, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.

  • Can work independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Experience with Jira/Confluence/Service Now.

  • Experience with SQL and Unix.

  • Experience with Murex and WSS FX is preferred and beneficial.
