Description

Amazon is searching for an experienced candidate to enhance our expanding global supply chain within the Global Logistics Services (GLS) team at Amazon. Since 1995, Amazon has been dedicated to being the "Earth's most customer-centric company." The GLS Imports team is committed to optimizing speed and cost, ensuring the efficient movement of freight from global manufacturing hubs across borders into Amazon’s international marketplaces for Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) sellers and retail direct import vendors. By harnessing the capabilities of top-notch logistics providers and internal Amazon supply chain solutions, GLS enhances selection and reduces costs for our customers.

In this Regional Amazon Customer Excellence System (ACES) role, the primary focus will be on identifying operational process gaps and driving improvements using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the goal is to develop scalable, sustainable solutions that eliminate waste and reduce variation. Establishing a culture of continuous improvement involves reducing complexity, increasing visibility, and enhancing performance measurements. It includes promptly identifying, triaging, and addressing issues; supporting deep dives into metric underperformance and findings from operations process reviews; and managing requests from business and operations teams using tools like SQL/Excel/QuickSight. The role involves working through ambiguity and effectively communicating with a diverse set of stakeholders including senior leaders. Additionally, it includes developing a cadence and framework to facilitate Just Do Its, Kaizen Events, and Continuous Improvement Projects. The role also entails coaching and driving standard work with third party providers and internal Amazon teams.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, understand business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors and boundary conditions

  • Define value stream map for processes, conduct gap analysis between processes and systems and partner with cross functional teams to develop solution to address the gaps

  • Partner with internal and external teams to execute to the timeline and milestones for the launch and ramp of programs and communicate well with a diverse set of stakeholders

  • Provide metrics inputs to various reporting decks, drive standardization, and communicate key performance indicators in support of network objectives

  • Deep dive data leveraging SQL and Excel to identify issues and drive improvements that have quantifiable impact

  • Drive adoption of standard work and support continuous improvements, best practice sharing, and standardization across all Global Logistics Services

  • Support network level excellence in Six Sigma and Lean practices through designing and implementing systems, metrics, and programs that drive adoption and continuous improvement

  • Drive standardization and documentation of core process elements to support network growth and scale

  • Some travel will be required for this role. This travel is not expected to exceed 20% annually.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in program or project management

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

  • Experience leading process improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment

  • PMP certificate
