Summary:

Meta is seeking a Privacy Engineering Manager to manage and grow a team specializing in Privacy Incident Investigation. This critical team helps protect the privacy and security of over 3 billion people. As its leader, you will be working with engineering teams to triage, mitigate, remediate, and learn from incidents and application-level weaknesses. You will also be a key partner to cross-functional teams, such as Legal and Policy, to ensure that incidents are accurately communicated and documented. We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, background in incident investigation or application privacy/security and a passion for supporting engineers in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable working across the company, and enjoy finding innovative ways to mitigate risk while protecting billions of users.

Required Skills:

Privacy Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Support a team of highly capable engineers that provide Privacy expertise to identify, classify, and remediate all privacy related incidents across Meta.

  2. Drive investigations and retrospectives to ensure Meta's privacy posture keeps improving.

  3. Partner with Privacy Leadership and engineering leaders across the company to prioritize Privacy issues across products and infrastructure while balancing tradeoffs and business goals.

  4. Grow the team and its impact by recruiting, retaining and growing top industry talent.

  5. Develop a roadmap for future work, track progress against it, and evaluate the team’s performance.

  6. Identify and prioritize projects that improve Meta's ability to handle Privacy Incidents, consistently, better and faster.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 6+ years of work experience in software engineering, privacy engineering, or security engineering, including 2+ years of hands-on management of a high-performing team of engineers

  2. Experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management.

  3. Experience building relationships and influencing stakeholders across multiple disciplines.

  4. Coding experience in at least one language.

  5. BS in Computer Science or technical field of study, or equivalent industry experience.

  1. Experience driving business-critical incidents in a big technical organization

  2. Technical experience in Incident Response for Application and/or Infrastructure breaches.

  3. Experience driving business-critical incidents in a large technical organization
