The Brattle Group Litigation Support Specialist in London, United Kingdom

The Brattle Group, a global economic and financial consulting firm, is looking for a Litigation Support Specialist to join our London office for a fixed term contract. The Litigation Support Specialist will be part of the International Arbitration Group, which provides expert testimony on complex economic and financial issues for international treaty and contractual disputes. Brattle experts testify in all of the major international arbitration forums and their work covers a wide range of topics, including breaches of contract; shareholder, M&A, and joint venture disputes; pricing disputes; and cases related to intellectual property.

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in the bigger picture of our cases and ready to play a meaningful role. The successful candidate would be joining an ambitious, supportive and inclusive team and have a chance to work alongside our testifying experts and teams across our European and North American offices.

The person would have responsibility for properly preparing and coordinating supporting documentation for our expert reports, and for the final audit of our reports and exhibits before submission. They would be integrated into our case teams and will be a key part of ensuring the successful delivery of our work.

The responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Managing the large number of exhibits that typically accompany our expert report submissions, using software specifically designed for the purpose.

  • Ensuring documentation and numbering of exhibits and citations to exhibits align with our standard practice and/or legal instruction. Reviewing exhibits as necessary to ensure consistency, clarity and accuracy.

  • Responding as needed to any case developments and updating exhibits and other documents as appropriate.

  • Auditing expert reports and other deliverables to ensure they are ready for submission as part of the legal process.

  • Performing research work. Drafting or translating information into easily digestible and structured documentation.

  • Working cooperatively with other case team members to ensure successful submission of deliverables.

THE CANDIDATE

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred; ideally with a focus in Law

  • Fluency in English is required; fluency in Spanish and/or French would be an advantage

  • Desire to work in a team environment where everyone pitches in

  • Rigorous attention to detail

  • Efficient at handling a high volume of documentation for filing and recording

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to approach research and analysis logically and prepare summaries and extract key information from documents and reports

  • Flexibility to adapt to new cases at short notice and comfortable managing multiple cases at the same time; frequent movement between cases should be expected

  • Ability to work well under time pressure and when faced with ambitious deadlines
