Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business. We support a wide range of internal stakeholders including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having significant interaction with external clients, playing a key role in the overall client experience.

This role sits within the Futures Derivatives Clearing (FDC) Control Group and is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team within London, with focus on excellence in controls facing our counterparts, also within balance sheet control

What you’ll do:

  • Help to manage a team covering critical control functions across FDC. An ability to create a positive environment to constructively challenge and develop our people and processes will be key to success in this role

  • An ability to critically assess processes and produce detailed requirements where improvements are required

  • Solve complex inquiries, and complete due diligence activities for management requests, Audits etc.

  • Provide detailed analysis of issues where necessary and recommend actions for tactical and strategic fixes

  • Drive and champion change across the team, deliver solutions to implement process improvements partnering with a number of internal stakeholders across Operations, the Business, Technology and Finance

  • Use MIS to establish trends in data and partner with technology and/or operations partners to deliver creative solutions to increase controls within the department

  • An understanding of accounting flows of the derivatives product life cycle to partner with Finance on balance-sheet substantiation efforts

What we’ll need from you:

  • Previous product relevant experience preferred.

  • People management experience is preferred

  • A background as a finance controller is preferred

  • Experience with large scale system migrations is preferred

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask

  • Ability to work independently

Qualifications:

  • Prior relevant experience

  • Experience in a derivatives processing role or as a financial controller

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
