Meta Full Stack Production Engineer - Monetization in London, United Kingdom

Summary:

Production Engineers at Meta are hybrid software/systems engineers who ensure that Meta's services run smoothly and have the capacity for future growth. They are embedded in every one of Meta's product and infrastructure teams, and are core participants in every significant engineering effort underway in the company.Our team members come with varying levels of experience and diverse backgrounds. Relevant industry experience is important (Full Stack Engineer, Software Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Systems Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Network Engineer, Database Administrator or similar role), but ultimately less so than your demonstrated abilities and attitude. We sail into uncharted waters every day at Meta in Production Engineering, and we are always learning.The PE Monetization team builds the products and systems that support capacity and efficiency for Meta’s revenue-generating products, ensuring our Ads service stack can scale reliably and efficiently.This position is full-time.

Required Skills:

Full Stack Production Engineer - Monetization Responsibilities:

  1. Ideate, design and implement software that Meta uses to plan, build and scale its infrastructure.

  2. Develop efficient and reusable back-end as well as front-end systems.

  3. Develop a strong understanding of Monetization products, services and codebases.

  4. Develop a strong understanding of the Machine Learning lifecycle and how Meta uses AI to improve the product experience.

  5. Develop a strong understanding of the capacity and efficiency space, as well as of the way products and services are rolled out and scaled to serve billions of users globally.

  6. Write and review code, develop engineering and user-facing documentation, develop and review capacity and efficiency plans, identify bugs and feature gaps, ideate and propose new functionality, and refactor existing systems and components for reusability and efficiency.

  7. Build and keep software running, sharing on-call rotation with your team and responding to incidents that affect the reliability of our products and services

  8. Partner alongside the best engineers, data scientists, product managers and leaders in the industry on critical systems that support Meta’s mission.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Experience coding, using one or more of the following (PHP, Javascript, GraphQL, React, Relay, Recoil, HTML, Thrift/gRPC, Python)

  2. Experience building web-based user facing tools and products, leveraging front-end frameworks and backend APIs.

  3. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  1. Experience as a full stack engineer that can solve front-end and backend problems alike.

  2. Understanding of the capacity management space (e.g. analysis of existing fleet, coexistence of different hardware generations, forecasting of future capacity needs, procurement of incremental capacity, hardware decommissioning)

  3. High level understanding of the different layers of the Tech stack and how the come together to provide a service (e.g. network, compute, storage, OS, supporting services, application layer)

  4. Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, trade offs, and diverse points of view to determine a path forward

  5. Experience working and communicating cross-functionally in a fast-paced collaborative environment
