At CBRE Investment Management, a part of CBRE Group, we are recruiting a Financial Reporting Manager responsible for the corporate accounting related to the Luxembourg business to support the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment company (NYSE: CBRE) with over $147.5 billion in assets under management, serving primarily institutional clients across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.

Position

The Financial Reporting Manager will oversee the accounting for period end close deliverables and financial reporting process related to the Luxembourg Investment Management business and oversight of coordinating with the Shared Service Centre (BSO), reporting directly into the EMEA Financial Reporting Manager. The Financial Reporting Manager will also work closely with the Conducting Officer based in Luxembourg to ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory financial statements for all corporate entities registered in Luxembourg, as well as liaise actively with the US Global Controller to ensure the timely close of month end processes and preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations. The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge of both Lux and U.S. GAAP, a subject expert in financial, regulatory and tax reporting, and be able to effectively manage a team. Excellent communication skills are a prerequisite. Financial services experience and previous experience with a U.S.-based multinational company are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, reporting processes and deliverables of Luxembourg’s accounting team and oversight of coordinating with the Shared Service Centre (BSO) to find opportunities for routine activities to be outsourced and strategize methods for automation.

  • Manage a team to set clear and achievable objectives and ensure that they are delivered upon on a timely basis. Actively communicate to ensure an appropriately balanced workload within the team and connect the team with appropriate internal resources.

  • Responsible for the preparation for annual financial statements including all statutory disclosures in accordance with Lux GAAP and CBRE accounting policies, including liaison with tax specialists in the preparation of tax computations and filing.

  • Support the annual external audit acting as the main point of contact with external auditors consider Management Letter Points and adjustments raised by Auditors and take necessary corrective action.

  • Manage the monthly accounting close process; ensuring all entries are posted timely prior to BD5 with sufficient IPE documentation/backup. Reporting directly to the Global Controller team based in the US monitoring and providing informed commentary on P&L and balance sheet variance analysis to forecast.

  • Review key risk balance sheet account reconciliations using Trintech Cadency. Maintain documented internal controls and policies, collaborating with CBRE’s Global SOX Assurance (GSA) to ensure active compliance with requirements and analyze transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Review in detail schedules and related commentary on key business line items, including carried interest revenue, expense, and related accruals; fund and real estate project co-investment balances; incentive compensation expense and accruals; profit sharing and bonus calculations; intercompany recharges; balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Liaise with internal specialists and external tax advisers to ensure compliance with all tax filing requirements and appropriate and accurate reporting in the financial statements. Responsibility for accurate submissions & payment for all VAT tax filings for Luxembourg entities on a timely basis.

Key Skills/Experience

  • Qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with 5+ years of professional experience preferably Big4 with audit background

  • Strong technical experience with Lux GAAP and US GAAP

  • Positive mindset with a drive to continually improve and challenge existing processes

  • Proficient using Excel with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Keen and positive attitude and team player

  • Experience with PeopleSoft, OneStream and Trintech Cadency is an advantage
