Equities E-Trading Risk and Control Manager

Citigroup Global Markets Limited is a global investment bank and securities brokerage firm that, along with its Citigroup affiliates, provides complete financial solutions to corporations, governments, institutions and individuals in more than 100 countries.

The Equities business, within a top tier global bank, is seeking an experienced professional to manage the project deliveries, caps and audits, E-Trading governance for the Global Equities. This role will work closely with the wider cross markets E-Trading team, business flows owners, and the associated tech teams and will report directly into the Head of Equities EMEA Risk and Controls.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee and drive Equities continuing adherence to E-trading policy, standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage E-Trading Governance Forums for Equities and work to ensure global consistency in structure and documentation.

  • Implement and manage the desk supervision of E-trading control triggers, limits and other key risk metrics

  • Oversee the roll out of E-trading Product Training and completed attestations for staff that execute of E-Trading Applications, Controls and Strategies.

  • Investigate, review, document operational risk events and coordinate remediation efforts.

  • Oversee and govern Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) specific to E-Trading.

  • Assist the Global Equity business to drive a robust E-Trading framework

  • Collaborate across the Business, Technology, Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Markets Risk & Controls to establish E-Trading best practices

  • Be active in E-Trading Policy & Standards Optimization including ensuring adherence to these requirements

  • Create high-quality E-Trading documentation for internal and external communication

  • Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of E-Trading Controls for monitoring E-Trading Applications, breach thresholds, approval process for changing limits and thresholds, as well as the escalation protocol for breaches

  • Coordinate other key control processes such as Annual MIFID Self-Assessment, Annual Mandatory E-trading Controls Review, Material Change Review, Quarterly MCA E-Trading Controls Review, Procedure documentation and refresh, Dispensation and Waivers Documentation

What we'll need from you:

  • Domain knowledge of E-Trading (pertaining to the Equities business, however, we are open-minded in our search for critical thinkers who are passionate about E-Trading)

  • Ability to produce high-quality documentation including standard operating procedures

  • Experience in implementing and managing controls and governance pertaining to E-Trading

  • Results-oriented team player with excellent communication (written, oral and listening) and presentation skills

  • Knowledge of (or ability to) research regional applicable regulatory rules and regulations

  • Self-motivator -- able to demonstrate and follow-through on routine and complex (business | technology) problem-solving and analytical matters

  • Time management skills -- good organizational skills and the ability to exercise control over the amount of time spent planning and focusing on initiatives and execution

  • Comfortable interacting with, and presenting to, senior management

  • Ability to interact effectively with numerous distributed teams (virtual teams) in a collaborative, team-oriented culture within the region and across other regions

  • Bachelor degree (or equivalent) with a strong academic record, advanced degree (a plus)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Master’s degree preferred
