JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing the continuous operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment relevant to and in order to maintain contractual requirements, reporting directly into the engineering supervisor, on a daily basis to perform preventative planned maintenance and reactive works tasks to meet client demands.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out installation and fault finding/diagnostic and problem-solving tasks on equipment whilst incorporating all manufacturing technical requirements/specifications, provide reporting as and where required.

  • Carry out electrically focused tasks on small LV system electrical/mechanical installations, UPS back up systems, Vesda Gas Suppression systems, BMS operations, PMS operations, facility power distribution, lighting distribution and HVAC distribution, provide reporting as and where required.

  • Navigate through and highlight to the engineering supervisor any issues from Trend 963 BMS facilities head end.

  • Read and understand technical drawings relevant to engineering task.

  • Ability to understand a variety of engineering procedures and functions and carry out mechanical isolations non emergency/emergency situations.

  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

  • Inform/update engineering supervisor of works progress/completions.

  • Recommends safety improvements and adheres to all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to power, energy and infrastructure projects, fire alarm and general facility electrical systems.

  • Proactively update and inform the engineering supervisor of required relevant stock items and any remedial works items required as and where necessary.

  • Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed. Performs non-electrical duties as assigned to meet the requirements of the business.

  • Be part of a shift working pattern, week 1: 7am – 3pm Monday to Friday, week 2: 3pm – 11pm Monday to Friday.

  • Perform relevant tasks in accordance with the Electricity At Work Regulations Act 1989.

  • Adhere and comply with relevant company policies and practices.

  • Perform relevant tasks in accordance with the most recent BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations IET Wiring Regulations.

  • Be familiar with electrical safe working practices such as LOTO and relevant testing equipment to GS38 and GN3.

  • Partake in weekly on call rota.

  • Report any conditions and hazards which could result in an accident or injury and / or stop work if required.

  • Complete all required and assigned HSE training at a satisfactory level

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • City & Guilds level 3 technical certification, ideally Inspection and Testing 2391 or equivalent and suitably trained to the latest IET BS7671 Regulations standard, it is desirable for the candidate to have relevant electrical engineering experience within a previous position.

  • Exposure to LV systems, critical installations, HVAC and Mechanical operational systems and also experience with L8 is highly desirable.

  • Good IT skills where use of a PDA/Ipad are required

  • Able to work as part of a shift pattern:

  • Week 1: 7am – 3pm Monday to Friday

  • Week 2: 3pm – 11pm Monday to Friday.
