NB has been expanding its solutions and advisory capabilities for institutional clients globally. As a leading asset manager with a history of successfully managing institutional assets, NB is well positioned to capitalize on trends both in favor of additional outsourcing as well as additional focus on asset managers’ solutions offering.

The Institutional Solutions team performs bespoke quantitative portfolio analytics and offers strategic portfolio advisory services for key clients and prospects. This position will have a particular focus on the EMEA insurance market but will also support client engagement across other institutional client segments and geographies. Key responsibilities include asset-liability management, strategic asset allocation, and peer analysis. Ideal candidates will be highly quantitative, skilled programmers, and will have a demonstrated ability to face clients.

Responsibilities:

Run bespoke analyses for clients, including projects such as portfolio optimization and capital analysis

• Extend existing infrastructure of analytical/quantitative capabilities to support business development efforts with institutional clients

• Produce thought leadership by developing materials for industry presentations and white papers

• Support institutional client coverage and portfolio management with input into the efficacy of various traditional and alternative investment strategies in channel-specific investment frameworks (e.g., insurers and pensions)

• Take the initiative in identifying and discussing relevant market, regulatory and industry issues with key clients on a proactive basis

• Develop sufficient knowledge of the firm's capabilities, products and services, which are of relevance to institutional clients

• Work with investment and distribution teams to structure investment products, deliver relevant analytics, and maintain client dialogue

• Conduct generalist quantitative research using demonstrable market knowledge and intuition across multiple asset classes, including fixed income and equity markets globally, as well as alternative asset classes

• Conduct statistical analysis and develop sophisticated quantitative financial models used for asset allocation and security selection

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in financial engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a similar quantitative field

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field preferred

• At least 3 years of industry experience preferred

• Demonstrated ability in quantitative programming required; Python and R are a plus

• Strong market understanding in addition to an ability to develop advisory tools that can facilitate client growth

• Excellent communication and presentation skills commensurate with a technical advisory, client-facing role

• Ability to develop strong relationships with both internal and external clients

• Strong level of self-direction, ownership, and initiative

• Experience with insurance regulatory capital and insurance product structuring are a plus

• Progress on CFA or actuarial exams is a plus
