WTW Business Development Leader, GB Affinity in London, United Kingdom

The business development leader for Affinity GB will have responsibility for delivering profitable new business into this new exciting Line of Business in the UK. This is a new senior position reporting directly into the Head of Affinity GB. It presents a unique opportunity to develop and execute our go to market approach utilising our full breadth of affinity solutions within a high growth area WTW is investing in. You will be working closely with other key stakeholders in the GB and the wider Global Affinity units and UK Corporate Risk and Broking colleagues, leveraging the opportunity to add value to existing client relationships balanced with securing new (to WTW) business.

As Business Development Leader your primary focus will be on seeking out and realising major strategic business opportunities across the UK in line with striving to exceed our strategic financial growth plans.

The Role

Key Responsibilities:

Ownership of business development activities and goals:

  • Executing effective annual go-to-market plans for new business

  • Secure new business in line with financial growth targets set.

  • Identify key decision makers and influencers, generating positive relationships and recognition of our capabilities.

  • Drive awareness of and demand for WTW Affinity solutions both internally within WTW and externally across our primary target markets

Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Facilitate regular two-way interaction with internal CRB and HWB colleagues, sharing data such as pipeline activity, leads and target market initiatives to drive greater collaboration.

  • Work closely with our affinity marketing team to develop and execute on campaign plans and initiatives to support lead generation and awareness of WTW affinity solutions.

  • Regular interaction with Affinity Sales colleagues in other countries to foster best practice and international business growth

  • Fulfil regular and ad-hoc pipeline reporting requirements, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in MS Dynamics.

  • Qualify and evaluate new business opportunities in line with WTW GB Affinity governance standards

  • Lead the co-ordination of proposals and responses to bids ensuring optimal profitability.

  • Devise comprehensive win strategies ahead of major proposals and bid responses, in order to optimise win rates.

Effective Leadership:

  • Lead business development activity and support the establishment of a high-performance sales culture in a matrixed team environment.

  • Act decisively, and autonomously, and manage challenging deadlines effectively.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • 5+ years extensive and recent experience developing and securing multi-million-pound affinity/embedded insurance programs.

  • Proven consultative influencing and negotiation skills at C-Level.

  • Excellent understanding of the GB affinity / embedded insurance market.

  • Experience delivering both commercial (SME) and personal lines B2B2B/C insurance programmes highly desirable

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience and versatile in securing B2B insurance and embedded protection new business into a wide range of target affinity industry sectors

Person Specification:

  • Highly personable with strong networking skills.

  • Ability to lead by example, act decisively, and manage challenging deadlines effectively.

  • Strong B2B strategic sales background and evidence of exceeding previous sales targets.

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel within UK to WTW offices, clients and prospects as required
