POSITION SCOPE

To safely operate, maintain and improve a packing line to meet the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) plan cost effectively and to agreed customer requirements, and to perform devolved maintenance tasks to increase efficiency in the packing area.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate packing line(s) and other offline equipment to safety, environmental, quality, hygiene and output standards

  • Perform scheduled and reactive line maintenance to minimise production downtime in line with the devolved maintenance tasks of Changeovers, CIL routines and Line Servicing activities.

  • Complete required quality checks, compare results against specified parameters and follow Company Quality procedures for action where required

  • Adjust plant when appropriate to ensure agreed specifications are maintained

  • Use FLT’s to supply lines with packaging equipment

  • Use knowledge and experience to anticipate problems where possible and to solve problems when they do occur using relevant CI tools

  • Record quality and performance data, and monitor line performance trends and material usage taking corrective action where appropriate

  • Clearly communicate handover information and issues within packing team of Operators and Maintenance Technicians

  • Involvement in continuous improvement projects where appropriate

    DESIRED WORK EXPERIENCES

  • Previous manufacturing experience in an automated continuous packing operation

  • Manual Handling awareness

    ESSENTIAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills, educated to at least 4 GCSEs or the equivalent
