Job Information:

  • Location: Lodi, NJ

  • Paying: $26 - $39 per hour, plus overtime. (depending on experience)

    Tool & Die Maker Job Responsibilities:

  • Will work under the Manager assisting with production by developing, constructing, altering and repairing a wide variety of injection molds, stamping processes, hydraulic presses, tooling, and components (mostly stamping)

  • Becomes familiar with and repairs all types of tooling equipment with very little instruction

  • Checks and repairs molds for mold readiness program ensuring optimal running conduction

  • Troubleshoots as required on all molds, including but not limited to rack, slide, straight open/close molds, and including parts with both internal and external threads, hot runners, and multi-cavity up to 64

  • Completes changeovers as necessary to meet schedule demands

  • Confirms parts by comparing measurements to specifications

  • Confirms assembly by verifying dimensions, clearances, and alignment of parts and components with micrometers, thickness gauges, gauge blocks, etc.

  • Completes assembly by bolting and doweling parts and components. Fits and alters complicated tools and machines.

  • Performs development work, difficult tool room operations, skilled fittings, timing and adjusting with limited instruction

  • Diagnoses and corrects issues in complicated molds

  • Sets up and operates machine tools to machine parts to specifications, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications

  • Plans, alters, and repairs a wide variety of tools, jigs, dies, fixtures and gauges to very close tolerances

  • Understands and can communicate that understanding of the plastic’s behavior when stamping into the tool including impact of cooling, venting, etc.

  • Troubleshoots machinery on production floor, resolving quality and efficiency problems when such arises

  • State-of-the-art facility. Digital machinery.

    Tool & Die Maker Job Requirements:

  • Any post high school education or vocational training is highly desired. Must have high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Five years experience building and repairing injection molds and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Must be able to read blueprints, basic schematics, operator manuals, etc., as needed
