Mechanical Engineer for Livonia, MI:

Produce a cross-functional Bill of Material for benchmarking automotive vehicles on in-house developed Data Acquisition System (DAS Tool) and deliver to global teams. Supporting for the Bill of Material process and delivery to customer and provide further assistance to the customer. Coordinate with a globally based, cross-functional team and release Bill of material for parts and assemblies. Interact with customer and understand customer requirement. Verify customer database against internal Bill of Material database for accuracy of nomenclature and deliver data to customer. Ensure complete and consistent inputs and deliverables for schedule adherence process planning application. Ensure deliverables in terms of timing and quality in compliance with SLA. Create engineering change management solution from automotive benchmarking data. Participate in Value Analysis/Value Engineering sessions to generate cost saving ideas based on but not limited to cost, mass and manufacturing processes. Report findings daily to the Value Analysis/Value Engineering team. Engineering validation of CAD model using CAD software such JT2GO, Creo, CATIA and GOM. Generate reports of mass analysis, material types and manufacturing methods to compare vehicles across multiple platforms. Maintain, track and create weekly update reports for Bill of Material, Mass Analysis and Value Analysis/Value Engineering reports. Assist in coupon cutting from tactical locations on the vehicle and perform hardness testing of material. Apply metrology knowledge in reverse engineering using software such as IMAGEWARE, GEOMAGIC STUDIO & GEOMAGIC QUALIFY. Create Metrology and measuring reports adhering to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards. Create 2-D sketches and 3-D models in adherence with ASME Y14.5 and IS 15054 standards of geometric tolerancing. Support in taking technical images of automotive parts in Isometric orientation and Rotational Angle views. Practice Continuous Improvement strategies to eliminate waste and increase efficiency of operations. Assist in maintaining six sigma techniques for floor operations
