About the Team:

The ZF Corporate Governance team is strengthening the Foreign Trade Export Control Group and is looking for an Export Control Officer to be based in South East Michigan!

What you can look forward to:

  • First point of contact for all export control related issues in NA

  • Review of export control relevant processes for approval under applicable laws, including U.S. re-export law, anti-terrorism and sanctions regulations

  • Applying for export licenses to the relevant US authorities and related agency interaction

  • Supporting departments and divisions in NA with export control relevant information

  • Export control classification in relevant IT systems (eg. MIC)

  • Training for employees

  • Supporting the foreign trade corporate strategy with regional and global initiatives

  • Supporting the development of the ZF government contract business portfolio, including FARS/DFARS compliance

Your profile:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of related experience

  • Legal education preferred but not mandatory

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as project management skills

  • Excellent problem solving, conflict resolution and advocacy skills

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, exhibit strong analytical ability

  • Good working knowledge of full export control competencies

  • High ability of technical understanding to classify items

  • High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to quickly learn and use other systems and software packages

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
