Qualifications:
Required:
BSN
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Demonstrates clinical competence in Wound Care
Minimum of 1 year previous Wound Care experience
Wound and Ostomy certification or completion within 1 year of hire
Successful completion of all Orientation requirements of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center
Preferred:
MSN
I.V. certification from an approved facility or completion of those requirements preferred
Certifications and Licenses Required:
Wound and Ostomy Certification or completion within 1 year of hire
Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement
BLS from the American Heart Association
Scheduling Requirements:
Day Shift, 7:00am - 8:00pm
Monday Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation
Full Time
Essential Functions:
Organize and administer individualized age-specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care. Supports philosophy, objectives along with the mission and vision of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and the Department of Nursing. Practices in accordance with the N.J. State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, TJC requirements and other regulatory agencies. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in unit Performance Improvement evaluation and activities.
Other Duties:
Program Coordinatorisresponsible for the overall functioning of the clinical areas. Coordinates nursing care and practice as well as wound care activities in conjunction with the philosophy, policies, procedures and program plans of the hospital. Evaluates appropriateness of wound consult patients, coordinates care/patient education and follow-up. Acts as a liaison with physicians and other health care team members. Participates in house-wide skin/wound care programs for staff education and patient care as needed, including Prevalence and Competency Days. Develops and participates in unit PI Assumes some varied and flexible scheduling to meet patient and staff needs.
