HIM Tech (Query) (Part-Time) (30 Hours Per-Week) Req #: 0000104981 Category: Clerical / Administrative Support Status: Part-Time Shift: Day Facility: Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center Department: Health Information Management Location: Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, 94 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039 JOB SUMMARY: The Health Information Technician is cross-trained in all areas of the Health Information Management Department which includes chart quality control, transcription, queries, chart deficiencies, prepping, scanning, boxing and birth certificates. Maintains chart quality in both the paper and electronic record. Ensures all operative reports and history and physicals (H&Ps) are dictated and available within 24 hours of any surgical procedure. Follows up with physicians regarding query completion. Reconciles deficiency report and updates aging and suspension lists accordingly. Assists and educates all new physicians with regard to medical record completion. Assists the HIM Coordinators with chart tracking. Able to assist with clerical tasks as needed, including, but not limited to newborn name updates, chart assembly, scanning and storage. EDUCATION: High School graduate or equivalent. REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of all orientation programs. Exceptional communication skills. Great attention to detail. Collaborative attitude. This poistion is part time 30 hours per-week.
