JOB SUMMARY:

The Advanced Practice Provider functions as an independent care provider in collaboration with the medical staff. Their advance practice is characterized bycomprehensive health assessments and management of patients with acute and/or chronic health problems. Educate patients and/or families regarding disease process, medical intervention, health promotion and pain management. Document patient teaching. Refers and communicates pertinent abnormalities to medical director/surgical specialist. Performs clinical procedures (in addition to RN functions). The Advanced Practice Provider serves as a resource for nursing and ancillary staff in regards to patient, disease management and pain management. The Advanced Practice Provider will act as a clinical resource to the nursing staff. Facilitate practices that are in compliance with Core Measures and The Joint Commission requirements. The Advanced Practice Provider will assist the Medical Center in enhancing our patients experience with pain management through coordinating and providing house-wide education on pain management and will lead house-wide Performance Improvement evaluation activities through implementation of evidence-based practice. The Advanced Practice Provider will assist with The Joint Commission preparedness and other tasks to improve patient satisfaction and the quality of care delivered. The Advanced Practice Provider will be credentialed through the CBMC Medical Staff and with third party payers for fee for service reimbursement.

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the state or New Jersey.

  • Certified Nurse Practitioner in the state of New Jersey.

  • Masters prepared in Nursing from an accredited program

  • BLS certified

  • Must be certified from an approved facility or completion of requirements within 90 days of hire for:

  • Intravenous therapy

  • Successful completion of all orientation programs.

  • Meets requirements as defined by applicable Department Specific Equipment Competency Checklist.

  • ENLS Certification within 90 days of hire
