AdventHealth Neuropsychologist - Littleton in Littleton, Colorado

Location: AHMG Neurosciences at Littleton

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Neurosciences Department at AdventHealth Littleton is looking for a clinical neuropsychologist to evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment recommendations to a variety of individuals suffering from various medical conditions that present with cognitive complaints.

Traumatic brain injury, stroke, brain tumor, exposure to toxic substances, spinal cord injury, anoxic events, Epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, and dementia, are just a few of the types of patients seen in the practice for neuropsychological evaluation.

Possible co-morbidity conditions include psychological or psychiatric conditions, with or without behavioral disturbance.

Referrals for evaluation come from a variety of physicians including but not limited to primary care, neurology, neurosurgery, neuro IR, epileptologists, sports medicine, and hospitalists. Both outpatient and inpatient populations are served with the majority of evaluations coming from outpatient referrals

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The neuropsychologist's responsibilities will be to:

  • Administer cognitive, neuropsychological, and psychological tests and measures via psychometrist assistance

  • Score and interpret those materials, and prepare a comprehensive neuropsychological assessment report to include diagnoses, and recommendations for treatment.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Experience in pre surgical evaluation of Epilepsy patients considering surgical intervention for their symptoms, as well as being able to participate in WADA testing as this will be an additional responsibility approximately two to four times a month on average.

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology from an APA accredited program,

  • Completion of a 2 year post-doctoral fellowship/residency in neuropsychology consistent with the Houston Guideline

  • Board eligible or board certified. Must hold licensure in the state of Colorado to practice independently.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to collaborate with a variety of other providers and staff in a collegial manner, be well organized, and be able to handle the rigors of a high paced environment.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

  • Bi-Lingual English/Spanish with the ability to evaluate patients in Spanish.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology from an APA accredited program

  • Completion of a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship/residency in neuropsychology consistent with the Houston Guidelines

  • Board eligible or board certified

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • Must hold licensure in the state of Colorado to practice independently.
