Seeking dog trainer(s) for rapidly expanding dog training business

We are a rapidly growing family owned dog training franchise in the Denver metro area, and in need of one or more dog trainers to help us expand into the future as we grow. Great opportunity for a career change!

Loving dogs is a must, but we also are looking for someone who enjoys people, teaching them, working with dog owners, and investing in the community. Ideal candidate has an eye toward advancing skills with possible management and growth opportunities in the future. Previous dog training experience not required; we will train you! We would prefer you have or get a dog and it must be trained with our approach. We train obedience, therapy, service, and protection dogs.

Ideal candidate will be interested in joining our team long term! Our training is in clients' homes, so you will be in multiple environments with many different kinds of people and dogs. When requested or required, we follow recommended COVID measures - masks, hand washing, frequent sanitizing of hands and equipment, and social distancing. An inclusive heart, open mind, willingness to learn, and humility are preferred. Successful candidate(s) must be willing to work in a family owned business/franchise and in a family owned environment (including around kids). Non-disclosure agreements will be required. We have fleet vehicles for use for personal appointments. Insurance and current driver's license required. Working weekends and evenings is consistently is required. Workers compensation is provided. Additional Qualifications: Excellent communication skills are a must, especially interpersonally, in meetings, and in working with different kinds of people. We must have someone who is confident, responsible, independent and a great team player. Experience with face-to-face marketing, like farmer's markets or exhibitor fairs is highly preferred. Dog training experience is not required (we will train!), but having or getting your own dog is preferred. Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required Position begins with a probationary training period at $15/hour. Can last 2-6 weeks depending on availability. If hired, then each appointment is $25/hour, driving time is $14.50, and hourly rate is $18.75/hour. You first learn obedience training, then can advance into therapy, service, and protection training as desired and requested. Must be able to work weeknights and weekends consistently. Specific days off to be negotiated. Flexible working hours expected. We have 4-day work schedule options. Uniforms will be required and a starter set will be provided but dress is casual/professional. Closed toed shoes required. Lifting and bending required Benefits offered include training your dog, bringing your dog to work, flex time, PTO, health, retirement. Long term includes cross training for management and administrative tasks as well as advanced dog training (therapy, service, protection).
