Overview

V2X is seeking Painter/Blaster for our facility located in Texarkana, AR.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primary responsibilities are undercoating, priming, and painting vehicles and small parts, hand, block and mechanical sand equipment, masking and cleaning surfaces for proper adhesion and assist other painters as needed, and general maintenance of equipment.

  • Interprets and understands technical manuals or other documentation required to meet specifications and standards, to include preventative maintenance and repair actions on military, manual or commercial systems and vehicles.

  • Ensure that the facility and equipment are correctly cleaned and maintained.

  • Motivate the teams to achieve production goals while adhering to all safety policies and procedures related to all facets of the job

  • Support company policies and encourage other employees to do the same (i.e., Attendance, quality, safety) by setting the example.

  • Performs quality checks on work being performed and monitors employee safety, quality, methods, and output along with routine troubleshooting of equipment and material problems and assists in formulation mixing and other duties as assigned.

  • Selects and uses appropriate hand and power tools and paint equipment and complies with acceptable quality standards using appropriate production practices and methods.

  • Work in and have general knowledge of shop procedures as they relate to the blasting and painting of various military equipment and systems.

  • Document supply and paint actions on manually or on military or commercial computer systems. Lead junior painters and helpers in the accomplishment of assigned tasks.

  • Responsible for accuracy of the products based on materials used and ensure that lines have enough raw materials to meet daily production requirements.

  • Keep informed of changes and new procedures in the production operations and train employees on new or updated procedures as required while ensuring standardized work is followed.

  • Perform information inquiries and/or transactions using computer terminals to support other duties and responsibilities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES), ETC.):

  • Two (2) years of relevant experience may be substituted for one year of education in the appropriate curriculum.

  • Must be capable of passing pre-screening and medical physical /surveillance pertaining to paint and blast operations.

  • Minimum Education/Experience: High School diploma desired. Technical training in a related technical discipline or related science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Work may require heavy lifting up to 20lbs, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting.

  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
