Job Description

Responsibilities:

Test Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive testing strategy for mobile devices, considering both functional and non-functional aspects.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, product management, and network engineering) to align testing efforts with business requirements and user expectations.

  • Define test plans and test cases that cover various scenarios, including network registration, call handling, data services, and interoperability

QXDM Testing:

  • Utilize QXDM for diagnostic monitoring and analysis of device logs, messages, and events.

  • Collect and analyze QXDM logs to identify defects, performance bottlenecks, and network-related issues.

  • Validate device behavior during different network conditions (e.g., handovers, signal strength variations, roaming).

DSDS Testing:

  • Conduct thorough testing of dual-SIM devices to ensure seamless switching between SIM cards.

  • Verify proper functionality of features such as simultaneous voice/data on both SIMs, SMS handling, and call forwarding.

  • Address any DSDS-related issues, including scenarios involving network selection, SIM activation, and SIM card management.

Defect Triage and Reporting:

  • Triage defects identified during testing, categorizing them based on severity and impact.

  • Provide detailed defect reports, including steps to reproduce, logs, and relevant context.

  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution of defects.

Guidance and Leadership:

  • Mentor junior testers and provide technical guidance on testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.

  • Act as a subject matter expert, answering queries related to QXDM, DSDS, and device testing.

  • Lead testing efforts, coordinate test execution, and manage test cycles.

Test Automation:

  • Explore opportunities for test automation using QXDM scripts or other relevant tools.

  • Identify repetitive test scenarios suitable for automation and collaborate with automation engineers.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mobile device testing, with a focus on QXDM and DSDS.

  • Proven track record of testing smartphones, feature phones, and IoT devices.

  • Familiarity with MSO network architecture and protocols (LTE, 5G, CDMA, GSM).

  • Previous experience as a team lead or mentor is highly desirable.
