Pulaski County Special School District Building Services Technician in Little Rock, Arkansas

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma/GED

  • Some supervisory experience

  • Five years experience in construction and maintenance

  • Two years’ experience with mobile technology and basic office technology (office software, email, etc)

  • Work experience in at least three of the following areas: carpentry/construction, ceiling and floor systems, roofing, masonry, drywall, grounds, heavy equipment operation, locksmith, minor access control, welding, or painting

  • Valid Arkansas driver's license

REPORTS TO: Building Services Foreman

JOB GOAL: General maintenance and servicing operation throughout the facility to include but not limited to: minor plumbing, minor electric work, minor HVAC, painting, carpentry, door systems, access control, minor boiler maintenance, snow removal, grounds and landscaping, preventive maintenance and similar functions, including some on-call responsibility

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Perform minor and major repair of all building and non-network related equipment.

  2. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all building systems.

  3. Repair/replace broken window systems.

  4. Repair of doors/frames with minor locksmithing.

  5. Assist in grounds work and landscaping.

  6. Operation of some heavy equipment.

  7. Maintains accurate job records.

  8. Minor wall surfacing repair/replacement, painting, vertical and horizontal surface repair/replacement.

  9. Masonry repair/construction.

  10. Minor electrical and HVAC service.

  11. General carpentry and cabinetry.

  12. Kitchen equipment repair.

  13. Inclement weather response: Snow/storm damage response.

  14. Minor roof system repair.

  15. Minor plumbing repair/replacement.

  16. Perform some heavy lifting.

  17. Perform work at varying heights on a ladder.

  18. Perform work in extreme weather conditions.

  19. Perform work underneath, on top of, and in attics of buildings.

  20. Respond to after hour emergencies.

  21. Assist in implementing the District's Desegregation Plan.

  22. Perform other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :

Salary Range: Range 11 - Support Staff Hourly Salary Schedule ($15.84/hr. - $29.03/hr. depending on relevant experience)

Length of Contract: 244 contract days

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Personnel Status: Classified
