Air Mobility Command Lead Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard) in Little Rock AFB, Arkansas

Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Little Rock AFB - Outdoor Recreation Pool. May be required to work uncommon tour of duty. POSITION WILL NOT EXCEED THE DATE OF 14th of September 2024. Up to $250 Lifeguard Certification reimbursement, rules apply. Note for Applicants these dates applications will be reviewed: (Cut off dates) March 22, 2024 April 5, 2024 April 19, 2024 May 5, 2024 May 17, 2024 May 31, 2024 June 14, 2024 June 28, 2024 Responsibilities The Duties for this position include: Monitors and assures aquatic staff services are available during duty assignment. Obtains and distributes workload tasking from supervisor to other lifeguards. Passes on all significant information and work-related items to aquatic staff. Resolves simple complaints of aquatic staff and refers others to supervisors. Leads lifeguards when assistance to swimmers is required. Performs training classes for all aquatic staff members. Ensures all staff members are trained and able to perform skills in accordance with performance standards. Periodically checks to ensure employees are performing training and conditioning drills. Makes weekly schedules for subordinate employees. Makes recommendations to supervisor concerning scheduling of aquatic staff member that has difficulty with skills and knowledge areas. Performs any and all duties of subordinates, which includes rescue of swimmers, administering first aid, enforcing rules, securing equipment and building, and instructing classes. Ensures pools are cleaned prior to use. Ensures cleanliness of bathhouses and storage areas. Ensures that outside facilities are clean and free of debris at all times. Assigns staff members these duties and ensures completion per written standards. Attempts to resolve informal complaints and refers others to supervisors. Monitors water quality condition. Teaches lifeguards proper testing techniques and record keeping requirements. Notifies other agencies when discrepancies exist. Performs opening and closing procedures, verifies that customers are authorized to use facility, collects admission fees, makes change, completes appropriate administrative documents, and makes deposits. Qualifying Experience: Applicant must have successfully completed a nationally recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (both child and adult) training from the American Red Cross or similar recognized agency. Applicant must have experience and specialization of the position. Knowledge of a variety of water safety instructions, as well as, swimming facility rules, work procedures, equipment and materials to perform standing, recurring tasks and special task under the instructions from the supervisor. Gives advice, counsel and instruction to individual employees on both work and administrative matters. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
