Navistar, Inc. Senior Technical Engineer Manager in Lisle, Illinois

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Technical Engineer Manager within Process and Methods group, who will lead system enhancements of Auros (Knowledge Management), Polarion (Requirements Management) and provide governance on engineering process change management, in support of Traton One PDP. This person will also supervise a small team, working with vendors, users and other key stakeholders to create a roadmap for Navistar engineering system landscape, aligned with Traton group R&D Enablement vision while provide day-to-day user support.

This person will have frequent interaction with both local and global engineering teams, PMO, Manufacturing, Quality to gather user requirements and provide most efficient solutions in support of design and release activities.

This person will also have the responsibility of supporting Layer 4 operational process development within one PDP and represent Navistar on key process changes and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for user support of Auros knowledge management system and continuous improvement to enhance user experience

  • Responsible for executing Polarion roadmap and adopting Polarion as the requirements management tool aligned with Traton

  • Responsible for the governance of engineering process change management process, working with Traton R&D process and methods group

  • Represent R&D in cross-functional standards committee

  • Identify and execute process improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and eliminate waste in engineering design and release activities

  • Work with Traton OPEX team to build roadmap on common knowledge management tool

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 10 years of technical project/program management experience

  • At least 4 years of management experience

OR

  • Master’s degree

  • At least 8 years of technical project/program management experience

  • At least 4 years of management experience

OR

  • At least 12 years of technical project/program management experience

  • At least 4 years of management experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills

  • Experience in Navistar engineering tools (CAD/CDMS/Metro workflow) or similar

  • Experience in process mapping and process improvement

  • Familiar with Navistar design and release process

  • Passionate about process improvement and waste elimination

  • Self-starter, comfortable with leading through influence

  • Comfortable working with ambiguity

  • Strong team player with the ability to build rapport and gain credibility with key stakeholders and within a global team

  • Understanding of scaled agile ways of working (SAFe)
