Navistar, Inc. MES Technical Product Manager in Lisle, Illinois

Position Overview

Navistar is looking for a MES Technical Product Manager to join our IT Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Team.

As the commercial vehicle industry undertakes its most significant transformation in a century, Navistar is on a mission to redefine transportation. Embracing a bold digital transformation, Navistar is ushering in a new era of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

The position is a hybrid work environment, 3-days a week at our corporate office in Lisle, Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions within the domain.

  • Drive standards, where relevant, across the manufacturing plants.

  • Develop and monitor guardrails to distinguish the use cases for MES functionality and SCADA technology.

  • Ensure MES Product Team is delivering quality solutions that meet business needs and priorities.

  • Define and design solutions that use the best technology platform which may be MES, SCADA, low-code platform, Power BI or other IoT reporting platforms.

  • Define and maintain the technology roadmap for the domain, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and architectural standards.

  • Develop architecture blueprints, design patterns, and guidelines for the domain, promoting reusability and scalability.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the domain architecture.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural best practices.

  • Conduct architecture reviews and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Collaborate with enterprise architects and other domain architects to ensure consistency and coherence across domains.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 12 years of IT architecture experience

  • At least 2 years of lead experience

OR

  • Master’s degree

  • At least 8 years of IT architecture experience

  • At least 2 years of lead experience

OR

  • At least 14 years of IT architecture experience

  • At least 2 years of lead experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills

  • Proven experience designing and implementing scalable and reliable systems within a complex business environment.

  • Strong understanding of software design principles, patterns, and best practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.

  • 5-7 years experience in MES technology, such as Rockwell Automation’s Factory Talk, Siemens OpCenter or Dassault’s Apriso.

  • 5+ years experience with architecting solutions in SCADA and PLC architecture.
