Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and Wolfram Language, is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to join the System Modeler department. The Senior Applications Engineer will work with different projects using Wolfram System Modeler, Wolfram Language and other software to help our customers develop, diagnose and optimize their systems. The ideal candidate will be technically skilled, solution driven and passionately curious.

System Modeler combines its powerful kernel with a highly reputed user interface and integrates with Wolfram Language. This results in a fully integrated environment for analyzing, understanding and quickly iterating system designs for industrial-strength, multidomain models of complete systems.

Responsibilities

  • Working with different projects using System Modeler, Wolfram Language and other software to help our customers develop, diagnose and optimize their systems

  • Developing models using System Modeler

  • Performing analysis and design using Wolfram Language

  • Teaching model development

  • Working on different projects with Wolfram colleagues and customers and individually

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively with others in English, including proficiency in written and verbal communication and strong listening skills, and preferably also Swedish

  • Ability to react quickly and adapt to changes in priorities, circumstances and direction

  • Master’s degree in engineering or a related field

  • Expertise in model-based design

  • Expertise in at least one of the following or similar industries: aerospace, agriculture, automotive, energy, pharmaceutical or process industry

  • Experience in at least one of the following or similar areas: control systems, mechatronics or thermodynamics

  • Programming proficiency in C++, C or Python

Preferred qualifications

  • Wolfram Language programming skills
