Job Description

The Mobility Strategic Business Development Director drives the strategic growth of the Mobility business sector within the Knowledge line of business in US and Canada, supporting the ambitious goals set for this segment across all delivery methods.

The Strategic Business Development Director ensures identification and development of new solutions/offerings (may be based on standards) that provide value in the market, establish awareness of existing services thru partnerships and sector awareness across different mobility platforms.

  • Develop a comprehensive strategic plan to establish a robust pipeline of revenue. Identify key growth initiatives and mega trends that support movement to \'green\' friendly, automation, data protection, safety, and AI within the mobility market sectors which are value add services to industry.
  • Role is a thought leader who brings awareness of future trends or sector directions.
  • Perceived as an influencer in the market with ability visionary guidance and represent SGS at key speaking engagements.
  • Engage in regional regulation forums and communities.
  • Define and execute the roadmap to convert strategy into action with key milestones, timelines, and owners to drive business expansion.
  • Build strong working partnerships with organizations that compliment our services or potential joint venture opportunities.
  • Work with Marketing team to complete a detailed market segmentation analysis annually that considers the competition, technology, market segments, pricing/margins, growth rates, SWOT analysis, geographies, and client profiles.
  • Identify the service offerings beyond Certification Services and to broaden the Business Enhancement capability into key areas such as Performance Assessments, Supply Chain Risk Management, Training, and Advisory Services.
  • Provide commercial support to the sales department including input to tender compilation and project/contract coordination.
  • Determine the resource requirements (technical, commercial, and operational) to grow the business.
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor\'s degree in sciences or equivalent AND
  • Minimum 10 years of experiences in the automotive industry including minimum 5 years as IATF lead auditor

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Subject matter expert on Transportation Certification requirements in NAM
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
  • Candidates must be proficient in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel. PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
  • Ability to work well with others & independently.
  • Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time
  • Travel to other SGS locations or client location may be required from time to time including international travel.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule
  • Longer hours, evenings and or weekend work will be necessary frequently as job duties demand
  • Ensures full compliance with the company\'s Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.

Travel

  • Travels up to 25% of time. Some travel might be international.

  • Competitive base salary - \$118,100-\$157,400 (based on experience)
