Eaton Corporation Engineering Manager in Lincoln, Illinois

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Engineering Manager. This role is based out of our Lincoln, IL facility. Relocation is provided within the United States.

This individual will supervise the daily activities and assignments of the Product Line Support (PLS) engineering team. Perform complex engineering relate assignments often requiring development of new or improved products/process/techniques. Assess feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering test/products/equipment. Develop yearly strategic plans aligned with Division Engineering and LP operations.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. What you’ll do:

In this role you will:

  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the PLS engineering team (Lead Engineers, Master Designers, Supervisors).

  • Report status on PLS team assignments, prioritize engineering request, projects and engineering to various cross functional teams based on Business needs.

  • Support the engineering aspects of cost out activities.

  • Ensure the proper design procedures and processes of the engineering team.

  • Contribute to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflict design requirements.

  • Coordinate project activities with other operating or engineering units to facilitate participation of appropriate staff in project completion.

  • Review project-related documentation to ensure its accuracy and compliance to Regulatory Agencies.

  • Assist in determining project objectives to contribute to the development of a comprehensive project design/ product improvements.

  • Provide technical soundness of design decisions and product changes to facilitate manufacturing, reduce cost, substitute material, improve quality and accommodate special customer needs.

  • Control and maintenance of deviation system and CO process (Enovia).

  • Responsible for Product Data Management (PDM) process.

  • Responsible of project development for products improvement.

  • Coordinate with other departments to maximize the use of information, skills and resources.

  • Work with manufacturing plants on plans, processes and strategies to accomplish a trouble-free introduction of products into manufacturing.

  • Comply with EQMS, Lean and Pro-Launch procedures and policies.

  • Manage laboratory, build prototypes and evaluate samples of products under development and/or complaints.

  • Support plant CI initiatives, actively participation on Gemba's, LPA, OpA

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree

  • Seven (7) years of engineering experience

  • Skilled with the following systems: MS office, Familiarity with AutoCAD & Inventor, Solid Works, AS400, drawing interpretation, SPC, Lean Six Sigma & DFSS, ISO9000, project management, experience with certification agencies (UL, CSA) metal forming & assembly experience.
