ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY…
The Professional Services and Consulting team at Iron Mountain plays a pivotal role in guiding customers through the design, implementation, scaling, and securing of our cutting-edge cloud native digital content management, machine learning, and workflow solutions. As a PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT, you will spearhead all architectural and engineering endeavors in a global region, ensuring the highest standards of quality and practices. With ownership of the entire technical and architectural portfolio, you will lead strategic discussions with clients while nurturing and mentoring implementation engineers. This role demands strong technical acumen, effective communication, and exceptional leadership skills. The ideal candidate will lead by example, driving innovation and excellence in technology solutions while prioritizing customer success over mere desires. Operating at the intersection of global strategy and regional execution, you will define intricate technology solutions across diverse industry verticals, fostering collaboration and excellence among our team of technologists, engineers, and architects. This person needs to be based in Latin America and is a Work from home position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES…
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of implementation engineers and architects to develop architectures and solutions for customers.
Collaborate with customers to understand application and cloud architectural requirements.
Foster teamwork and convey client vision while ensuring adherence to best practices.
Work with the services engineering team to implement architectural decisions and provide technical leadership.
Identify risks and mitigation strategies associated with architecture elements.
Assist in troubleshooting major implementation issues.
Utilize design thinking methodologies to facilitate solution design and architecture.
Establish SDLC and engineering best practices in the region.
Provide feedback to product management on customer needs and roadmap items.
Stay updated on cloud technologies and maintain expertise in relevant areas.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS…
Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS/IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of experience in Software Engineering and delivery, preferably in client-facing roles, utilizing various SDLC methodologies.
Strong technical background and understanding of enterprise solutions including networking, storage, hardware, and software layers.
Experience delivering horizontally scaled solutions on public cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, or AWS).
Significant experience with digital content management, ECM, DAM, CSP, WCM, LMS, etc.
Business and Engineering fluency in English.
Relevant industry experience in Consumer Products, Financial Services, Life Sciences, Entertainment, Resource Extraction, or Public Sector.
Proficient in technologies/languages such as Python, .NET/C#, Java, NodeJS, REST APIs, JSON/XML, JavaScript, etc.
Experience with cloud technologies and solutions, machine learning, AI techniques, and identity providers.
Ability to create conceptual, presentation, and technical drawings for all project phases.
