Ford Motor Company Quality Analyst in Lima, Ohio

Work cross functionally and closely with integrated teams in Manufacturing, Product Development, Purchasing and Supplier Technical Assistant.

In this position...

Interface with suppliers -incoming quality issues, root cause analysis, closure of 8D’s, chargeback information, coordinate part sorts and some supplier visits.

Some qualified candidates may be considered for other Quality Department Roles based on experience and personal strengths. Other potential position assignment may include Internal Auditing, Quality Analyst and QOSC Process Coach.

Grade level of position is GSR6-8 (promotion eligible)

What you'll do...

  • Coordinate during quality concerns containment actions, dock holds, special checks to eliminate any impact to customer.

  • Prepare standard reports for Quality reviews within the plant and with other areas.

  • Review rejected parts for quality integrity and decide next steps. Issue daily Incoming Quality report.

  • Lead/Support 8D resolution of concerns that are supplier Quality issues.

  • Support expedited concern resolution with cross functional teams including Machining, Production and Suppliers

  • Review incoming quality concerns to maintain quality with assigned area; must have experience with initiating containment, determining root cause and implementing corrective actions.

  • Liaise with Tier1 Suppliers on their part supplier quality concerns.

  • Make quality calls that are in line with the customer acceptance level.

  • Raise quality concerns into GSAR QR Systems

  • Pull part drawing / CAD to check suspect parts against specification.

  • Raise Concern Reports for all concerns and follow up until closure with G8D's based on data.

  • Review and analyze Supplier 8D reports

  • Work with supplier to arrange shipment of defective/suspect parts back to suppliers if needed.

  • Co-ordinate part sorting in plant as well as at brake point from Tier1 supplier support production.

  • Manage all 3rd party sorting action and send daily reports on status.

  • Track all ageing part concerns - 30 days and more.

  • Sort parts for defects until supplier arrive at Ford to take over sorting function by hiring 3rd party to continue sorting activities.

  • Resolution of Quality concerns component supplier, Product Development, STA in a timely manner not to affect production output.

  • Managing conflict between affected parties.

  • Decision making on liability of defect.

  • Effective managing of suspect parts to protect customer.

  • Managing of Quality reports tracking and binning.

  • Visit and coach suppliers if needed.

You'll have...

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Experience in Quality Engineering

  • Demonstrated experience in accomplishing tasks and objectives

  • Proven problem-solving ability

  • Previous Incoming Quality Supervision

  • Microsoft Office Knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)

Even better, you may have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field of Quality

  • Previous automotive and quality analysis experience
