Sylvan Learning Part Time After School Tutor (School Contract) in Lima, Ohio

Why did you first decide to become a teacher? At Sylvan we remember why! As an instructor at Sylvan, your primary responsibility is to teach! That’s right, No Lesson Plans, No Preparation. You will be trained in the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in our small group setting. You will provide personalized instruction in Reading and/or Math to students for this school contract position. Our talented employees experience daily, the impact they make. If you aspire to inspire, then we want you on our team!   What You Get With Sylvan: · NO LESSON PLANNING! You will use pre-planned lessons via our SylvanSync platform. They are straightforward, easy to manage, and fun to teach. · No parent meetings · Teach students in a small group setting. · Most teachers choose to work 2-4 days/week · We are open for instruction weekday afternoons 3:15 -5:15 · Work with students in person at the School location · Competitive hourly compensation · Through on-the-job training and learning opportunities, you can develop your career at Sylvan and succeed with us in future roles!   Skills Required:  · Teach using Sylvan's state of the art curriculum · Supervise, interact with and motivate students during instruction hour while they learn and practice new skills · Reward students for participation, cooperation and trying their best · Evaluate and document student progress · Develop rapport with all Sylvan students · Establish a fun and positive learning environment · Maintain a nurturing attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching · Bachelor’s Degree required or currently pursuing a degree in Education, Teaching Credential recommended · You must enjoy teaching, working, and inspiring students.
