Messer stands apart because we put what matters first, and you matter. Principal Responsibilities Understand and adhere to company safe work policies. Contribute to the improvement of the Safety, Health, Environmental and Qualityprograms. Apply the hazardous work permit (HWP) process, lockout-tagout (LOTO) and energyisolationprocedures as required for company and contractor personnel. Follow management of change (MOC) procedures for all changes to process and operating procedures. Direct and monitor contractors. Lead and participate in operations, maintenance, and safety meetings. Participate in safety committee activities as required. Support plant inventory management efforts. Follow work instructions and annotate with feedback. Set up and safely operate all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned work. Effectively prioritize and schedule all work activities. Perform and document process and product analyzers calibration checks. Instrumentation & Controls (Once Certified): Perform intermediate troubleshooting of instrumentation and control valves. Calibrate, configure, and/or replace field instrumentation devices. Install, commission, and troubleshoot control valves. Perform intermediate troubleshooting of process control systems. Functionally test or troubleshoot instrument or electrical control loops through field devices to verify proper operation. Electrical (Once Certified): Perform basic troubleshooting of electrical systems. Repair electrical equipment control circuits. Perform LOTO of electrical systems and confirm zero energy. Process Operation and Efficiency Lead shutdowns, start-ups, derimes, and production state changes for plant(s) in area. Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System(CMMS)(SAP). Troubleshoot process problems to identify equipment requiring maintenance. Perform water treatment analysis and associated tasks. Document activities and data in the plant electronic logbook and SAP system. Accept on-call duty and overtime as required. People/ Interpersonal Maintain open line of communicationwithmanager and other stakeholders. Support new employees and entry-level technicians through coaching and mentoring. Required Qualifications Five (5) years of relevant experience in a related process plant operations, maintenance, or reliability activity. Certified to ISA Level 2 to qualify for instrumentation skills requirement. Certificate in a technical discipline, two-year related degree or recent military training in a technical field wiII be considered in lieu of ISA Level 2 certification. The job requirement is to obtain your ISA Level 2 certification within two years of hire date. Required Skills Personal computer proficiency. Strong interpersonal abilities to support team philosophy and strategy. Ability to work alone. High mechanical aptitude and ability to work with simple mechanic's hand tools.
