Job Description

Kaua'i Medical Clinic is the island’s largest clinic and only multispecialty medical group. More than 85 physicians and midlevel providers offer primary and specialty care at clinic locations in Eleele, Kapaa, Koloa and Lihue.

The Health Management Department is where all of our Diabetic patients are referred to, providing individualized diabetes self-management education and training to individuals according to the National Standard for Diabetes Self-Management Education and Standard of Professional Performance for Diabetic Educators. As a Patient Health Educator, you will provide initial and comprehensive skills training and education to patients and family members with diabetes and other medical nutrition diagnoses regarding planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating self-management care.

If you enjoy teaching and have a talent for creating lively outreach, you could be the ideal person for this position. As the Patient Health Educator, you will provide essential preventive health and educational services to patients suffering from, or at risk of diabetes. We are looking for someone engaging and inspirational with excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: Registered Dietitian (RD) or current Hawaii Registered Nurse License.
