About the Role

Directs the work and parts flow in their respective production area/zone and assist operators in the operation of their equipment.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Assist the operator in his/her work and assist in training operators on machine operations and quality inspections.

  2. Perform minor correction to equipment. Contact the area leader or proper support personnel to report machine or tooling problems.

  3. Responsible for the quality of parts produced in the area and reports any non-conforming parts to area leader and quality department.

  4. Reviews and updates main communication boards for operational problems.

  5. Fills out maintenance work orders.

  6. Performs daily audits of the work area for 5S and safety guards and verifies safety equipment is working.

  7. Communicates issues to Area Leader or Department Manager.

  8. Conducts pre-shift meetings to review scoreboard and open issues and concerns.

  9. Fosters positive working relationships with all personnel of the division.

  10. Recommends proposals for improving products, processes, systems, and work environment through the continuous Improvement process and encourages employees to participate in the process as well.

  11. Leads by example to other employees in attendance and good work performance and displaying positive behaviors.

  12. Follows the escalation process when equipment is down.

  13. Respond to all Andon’s per zone and coordinate the correct support group.

  14. Fill in for operators that need to temporarily leave the line.

  15. Follows and supports LMV Automotive System’s and Magna’s operating principles, including:

a. Magna Employee Charter – Operating under its principles by treating all employees equally, fairly, and with dignity and respect without favoritism.

b. Open Door Policy – Facilitates the process without fear of reprisal. Solves issues by encouraging two-way, open, and friendly communication.

c. C48 – Listens to issues and concerns and responds within 48 hours.

d. 5S – Maintains and promotes good housekeeping by following the philosophy “Everything has a place. Everything in its place”.

e. Safety First - Leads by example and enforces all of the plant’s safety rules and procedures by wearing PPE at all times and immediately addressing all safety concerns. Promotes an environment where zero injuries are the expected standard.

f. Company quality and environmental policies.

g. Core values – Treat all employees equally, fairly, with dignity and respect, without favoritism in accordance with company values.

  1. Supports efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey.

  2. Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Although the position does not have direct supervisory experience, it will serve as a trainer and leader to operators.

Education and/or Experience:

Must have a high school diploma or GED.
