As a DevOps Engineer at Itron, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting edge technology, working across various stages of the software development cycle, on a wide range of development projects with a team of experienced and talented colleagues. We operate a Linux based stack utilizing a broad range of technologies to provide our high availability end to end solutions, from NoSQL stores (Riak) and search platforms (Solr) to front end HTML and JavaScript maps/ graphs. You will have the opportunity to work on our multi-tenant meter data management system which collects data from millions of devices worldwide in five independent clusters across the globe, integrates with IoT networks and enterprise utility systems. We are looking for an enthusiastic DevOps engineer that will handle the day-to-day management and work on scaling. Duties & Responsibilities Build and implement new development tools and infrastructure Work on ways to automate and improve development and release processes Provide Level 2 support on infrastructure, server, and DevOps issues Ensure systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats Identify technical issues and develop software updates and fixes Manage server infrastructure Work on scaling and hardening Plan and lead projects that involve technical decisions Reqiured Skills & Experience Minimum 4 years of DevOps experience Experience working on Linux in a development environment Experience with server management Knowledge of Linux and command line tools Experience working with Relational databases NoSQL databases DevOps Automation experience using Chef (preferred), Ansible, Puppet Git Preferred Skills & Experience Jenkins Solr search engine Docker K8s Ruby Perl Education Bachelor's degree in computer science/ engineering or equivalent work experience Itron is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce and providing an authentic workplace experience for all employees. The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience.
