PruittHealth Assistant Pharmacy Manager in Lexington, South Carolina

JOB PURPOSE:

Assumes full responsibility for all pharmacy operations in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager. Performs essential functions of Staff Pharmacist when needed. Fills in as Staff Pharmacist to cover vacations and leaves of absences as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinates pharmacy activities in the day to day operation of the pharmacy.

• Supervises distribution of activities, evaluates workload and adjusts staffing to maintain productive, cost-effective and efficient services.

• Prepares staffing schedules.

• Performs essential functions of a staff pharmacist when needed. Fills in as staff pharmacist to cover vacations and leaves of absence when needed.

• Assists in interviewing, hiring, training and evaluation of personnel to maintain productive staff.

• Assures implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of pharmacy services.

• Supervises professional and support staff.

• Assists in education, training and monitoring of staff to assure compliance with policies and procedures and report findings to the Pharmacy Manager.

• Complies with all statutes, rules and regulations, policies and procedures.

• Provides requested reports and follow-up in required timely manner.

• Implements employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale.

• Keeps supervisor informed of daily activities, and issues. Proposes solutions to all issues.

• Must get along with co-workers; maintain effective relationships with management staff, employees and the general public.

• Must have timely, regular attendance.

• Follows all company policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations and charged with reporting violations to the appropriate supervisor.

LICENSURE/CETIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of accredited School of Pharmacy. Current licensure in state in which pharmacy is permitted.

• Freedom from illegal use of drugs, and freedom from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

• Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in this position. Satisfactory results of a criminal history check, Office of the Inspector General Sanction Check, and satisfactory licensure validations (as applicable).

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Three to five (3-5) years’ pharmacy experience (long-term care experience preferred).

• Experience in patient care and medication management, drug therapy monitoring, drug and medical supply procurement, inventory control management, and performance improvement.
