KBR Sr Avionics Mission Computer and Data Storage Engineer in Lexington Park, Maryland

Title:

Sr Avionics Mission Computer and Data Storage Engineer

KBR is seeking a Senior Avionics Mission Computer and Data Storage Engineer to join our team supporting an advanced research and development program. In this role, you will support the execution of advanced Mission Computers and Data Storage (MCDS) development and research systems.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Works with program management and program teams to integrate new capabilities, define gaps, derive requirements, and develop program descriptions, specifications, integrated roadmaps, and detailed schedules.

  • Supports the development of acquisition and technical documentation.

  • Serves as the on-site liaison to support and coordinate technical reviews, data analysis and reports, and monitor and report team and contract status/execution.

  • Analyze manufacturers’ proposals as permitted by law and regulations.

  • Serve as the MCDS Systems Engineer for coordination of technical program status and execution throughout the design, engineering, integration, test and program execution process with the manufacture(s).

  • Develop, execute, monitor, and reports status on program efforts, including analysis of test data.

  • Serve as the program MCDS Engineer for program technical execution, coordination, risk assessments and communication of concerns and issues with program management and technical leadership.

  • Coordinates between government leads, contractor leads, engineers, technical subject matter experts and program management.

  • Support and provides insight to determine the effectiveness of program execution and recommend modifications to processes for program activities.

  • Works with teams to develop out-year planning and provide input to roadmaps for analysis, risk reduction, development and integration of requirements/capabilities.

  • Travels 10-15% of the time.

  • This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university is required . Experience cannot be substituted for education.

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in mission computer s or s ystems engineering on military weapons systems or relevant systems is required.

  • A final DoD Top Secret clearance is required. A current SSBI or Federal Investigative Standard Tier 5 (T5) or Tier 5 Reinvestigation (T5R) within the last 5 years.

  • Must be able to travel as required for the role.

  • Must be able to work in a dynamic, complex security environment.

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office (including Project) and Adobe products.
