ManTech Software Engineer in Lexington Park, Maryland

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Software Engineer to join our team in the Lexington Park, MD area.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports.

  • Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.

  • Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-Shelf/Government Off-the-Shelf (COTS/GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.

  • Design and code new software or modifies existing software to add new features.

  • Debug existing software and corrects defects.

  • Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.

  • Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.

  • Make recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standard.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of zero or more years’ experience with a Bachelor of Science degree inComputer Science or related field.

  • Knowledge of software engineering principles in the design, development, integration, test, and development of hardware and software systems

  • Have a proposed skill mix in at least three of the following areas:

  • Ship and Aviation

  • Unmanned Systems

  • Critical UAS technologies such as electrical, software, navigation, and control, cyber, ISR and Electronic Warfare, and sensor systems

  • Acquisition

  • Test and Evaluation

  • Sustainment Engineering

  • Delivers presentations, training, and briefings, as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Top Secret clearance preferred.

  • BS/MS

  • Five (5+) or more years’ experience in system design, development, integration, testing, and deployment of systems.

  • C/C++, and Java.

  • Experience in software development management role.

Education and Certifications:

  • DoD 8140 compliant if required by tasking.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Must have a current/ active Secret clearance, and must be willing and able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.

  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
