Description

The qualified applicant will support a NAVAIR Program Office based at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland, providing autonomy analysis support in the engineering, development and procurement of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).

Requirements

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

· Support the execution of advanced research and development of UAS. Work closely with autonomy engineers, test engineers, and program management leadership

· Investigate platform autonomy issues for root cause, track and categorize issues; identify opportunities to improve data and statistics.

· Troubleshoot software and application issues.

· Integrate UAS digital twin into Modeling and Simulation test beds to characterize performance and validate testing.

· Manage software trouble/change reports to prioritize SW spiral build process leading to a deployable system with an upgrade path

· Integrate UA within larger command infrastructure including utilizing existing communications architectures and clearly define information exchange requirements.

· Scope anti-tamper and cyber security requirements to balance data protection needs within program schedules and cost and overall usability of the system

· Define supply safety of flight and other artifacts required to obtain flight clearances.

· Define operational threats to system in the electromagnetic environment for system design agent, identify tests/analysis to validate requirements

Requirements:

· US citizen with active Top Secret clearance.

· Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or related field from an accredited college or university. Experience cannot be substituted for education

· Experience with USN acquisition programs and processes

· Minimum of 4 years of recent and relevant experience in autonomy analysis to include one year of experience with DoD UAS platforms.

· Familiarity with Linux; experience with C++, Python

· Familiarity with Modeling and Simulation as a verification tool
