Title:

Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Junior Engineer

The Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Junior Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting PMA-231 within the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). The primary responsibility of this position is to provide technical expertise and support in the execution of Foreign Military Sales programs, ensuring the successful integration and sustainment of the E-2D for international partners primarily for Japan.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military weapons systems.

  • Review and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals and other technical documentation.

  • Applies systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.

  • Analyze, design, develops, implement, test, or evaluates software components. This can include systems related to engineering, functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems, or management information systems.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with providing technical guidance and expertise on aviation systems to support Foreign Military Sales initiatives.

  • Assists with collaborations with international partners to understand their requirements and assist in the customization of solutions to meet their specific needs.

  • Work closely with PMA-231 program managers, senior engineers and other stakeholders to facilitate the successful execution of Foreign Military Sales programs and ensure adherence to program schedules, milestones, and technical specifications.

  • Assists with preparing and reviewing technical documentation, including specifications, engineering drawings, and system documentation, to support FMS activities.

  • Assists with generating regular reports on program progress, technical challenges, implemented solutions.

  • Assists the government customer’s collaboration with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and logistics specialists.

  • Assists with addressing technical issues, ensuring program success, and fostering effective communication with international partners.

  • Assists with addressing technical concerns of international partners.

  • Assists with providing training and technical support to international customers on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of aviation systems.

  • Assists the government customer to serve as a liaison between PMA 231 and foreign military counterparts.

  • Assists with facilitating knowledge transfer and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific discipline is required.

  • An active secret level security clearance is desired.

  • Prior s ystems engineering and aviation systems experience is a plus.

  • Must be able to travel as required (average travel requirement consists of 2 overseas trips and 3-4 OEM facility visits per year).
