POSITION OVERVIEW (Job Summary):          

The CPM Wolverine Proctor Division has a unique opportunity for a CNC Press Brake Operator in our capital equipment manufacturing facility in Lexington, NC.  This is an opportunity to join a highly successful business with advancement opportunities.  We are looking for a highly motivated detail-oriented person with strong technical mechanical aptitude coupled with proficient organizational skills, and outstanding people skills. 

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, setting up CNC Press Brakes, deburring completed parts, and working closely with the Production Manufacturing and the Engineering Group.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  •  Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

  • Ability to interpret drawings and hit multiple bend lines in the right order.

  • Able to perform basic math, algebra, and simple geometry.

  • Must be able to read/use angle ruler, digital or dial calipers, and tape measure.

  • Must be able to determine whether a part is possible to bend by looking at the drawings.

  • Knows or can learn how material stretches when bent.

  • Set up and operate the CNC press brake machine to bend, form, and shape sheet metal according to blueprints and specifications.

  • Select and install appropriate tooling and dies for each job.

  • Measure and inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.

  • Adjust machine settings as needed to achieve desired results.

  • Monitor machine operation and troubleshoot any issues that may arise

  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs at times.

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Previous experience operating press brake machines or similar equipment

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints

  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques and processes

  • Familiarity with CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programming is a plus.

  • Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and operate a crane if necessary.

  • Good communication skills and a team player are a must.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma

  • 5 years experience

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Prolonged periods of standing

  • Bending, lifting, pulling, pushing

  • Lifting/Carry

  • Withstand uncontrolled environment, winter, summer, spring, fall, seasons in a manufacturing atmosphere.
