MIT Lincoln Laboratory CSD: Legal Agreements Co-op Student (mid-May-August) in Lexington, Massachusetts

Position Description

The Legal Agreements Co-op Student is responsible for researching and making recommendations related to various statutes, regulations, and common contract clauses that impact research and operations at the Laboratory. This position supports three teams, including Legal Agreements; Off-Contracts, Partnerships & Agreements; and Government Contracts and Compliance, and will complete research assignments of interest to each.

Basic working knowledge of intellectual property and contract law, the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Supplements, and other relevant statutes and regulations is preferred. Must be highly detail-oriented, well organized, and a skilled multi-tasker that can work independently.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Juris Doctor program

  • High attention to detail in fast-paced, high-volume environment

  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, time management and prioritization skills required

  • Experience preparing and drafting legal agreements is preferred

  • Demonstrated written and oral communication in professional and customer-facing setting is required

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance required; existing Government security clearance preferred

    Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
