MIT Lincoln Laboratory 33: IT CO-OP Student (Fall 2024) in Lexington, Massachusetts

Job Description

Group 33 is seeking a co-op candidate for the fall 2024 cycle (starting in September to provide complete IT hardware/software support for 100+ users).

Responsibilities:

  • Complete operating system installations and troubleshooting for Windows 10, Windows 11, Widows Server, and Linux (Red Hat and Ubuntu).

  • Image new computers with Windows or Linux.

  • Assist staff members in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems.

  • Identify vulnerabilities across all IT assets and apply patching and other fixes for remediation.

  • Assist in developing our growing IT infrastructure. Work on existing projects and help develop new projects aimed at improving the group's computer requirements.

    Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in accredited Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Networking/IT Degree program with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Must be knowledgeable of various operating systems: Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server, Mac OS X, and Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.).

  • Familiarity with Microsoft application software as well as other application software including a basic understanding of networking.

  • Must have at least completed sophomore year.

    Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
