The Walsh Group Safety Internship Program - Midwest Region 2024 - 2025 in Lexington, Kentucky

Overview

Walsh is currently seeking Safety Interns for our projects in our Midwest Region. Project locations include: Louisville, KY, Lexington, KY, South Bend, IN, Columbus, OH and St. Louis, MO.

Our internship program will prepare you for leadership positions both on and off the jobsite. Our program allows you to travel across the United States and through operational divisions to gain hands-on experience in project engineering and field management. We carefully match you with positions related to your academic and career goals, setting you up for the right career path after graduation.

Responsibilities

The Safety Intern will support and work with the on-site safety manager and safety staff to promote and manage Walsh Safety Programs. The Safety Intern position will be for a minimum of a 12 weeks. The Safety Intern will learn about multiple career paths in our company, and will be trained to become a full-time employee after college graduation. Some duties and responsibilities include:

  • Participate in field safety walks

  • Help safety manager with first day safety orientations for new employees

  • Complete accident and incident reports

  • Oversee safety and health of personnel working on company jobsites

  • Help safety manager coordinate project safety programs with subcontractors, ensuring company safety policies and procedures are understood and implemented

Qualifications

  • Seeking a bachelor’s degree is preferred

  • The ability to work a 12-week work schedule is preferred

  • Specific roles may require relocation
