This position will manage day-to-day operations of the Don & Cathy Jacobs Pediatric Health Education Center, round in Kentucky Children's Hospital to support nursing staff in patient education, and provide teaching / mentoring to promote best practices in communication and education. Additionally, the Pediatric Patient and Family Education Specialist will facilitate a health literate organization through collaboration with peer groups including staff development specialists, clinical nurse specialists, and others to promote a culture of safety, reduce length of stay, and prevent re-admissions. Ideal applicant will be self-motivated, creative, and skilled in interpersonal communication as well as public speaking/presentations.Skills / Knowledge / Abilitiesknowledge and skills associated with patient education typically obtained through a four year college degreeDoes this position have supervisory responsibilities?
